Poolesville Golf Course, is a Public, 18 hole golf course located in Poolesville, Maryland.
Poolesville Golf Course first opened for play in 1960. The course was designed by Edmund B. Ault and Al Jamison.
Poolesville Golf Course was built on flat terrain. The wind is almost always a factor. Water hazards (two ponds) come into play on four holes. The large greens vary in undulation and their speeds are determined by the seasonal weather conditions. Half of the holes are lined by out-of-bounds stakes
Par for the course is 71. From the back tees the course plays to 6.811 yards. From the foward tees the course plays to 5,491 yards. The longest hole on the course is # 2, a par-5 that plays to 605 yards. The shortest hole on the course is # 13, a par-3 that plays to 156 yards from the back tees.
Watch out for # 2, the 605 yard par-5 challenge and the #1 handicap hole on the course. The easiest hole at Poolesville Golf Club is # 13, the 156 yard par-3.

We have played Poolesville for years with great success, it's a friendly course that isn't jam packed. A little longer drive but well worth it.

I play this course at 7:30 a.m. every Tuesday and Thursday. I am a very fast player - our foursome played 18 holes in 3 hours this past Thursday - my twosome usually does it in 2:30 minutes.
The course is beautifully maintained - like a carpet with gorgeous fairways. It is a public course and has little clubhouse ambiance or food, but the staff is fantastic - professional, polite, excellent!

Course was packed, yet we maintained perfect pace of play. We kept position with the group in front of us, and never felt pushed from behind. It was perfect. Nice round.
